Highland Life, 17 Nov 2009
By John Graham (Inverness, Scotland)
This is an interesting and informative book that is well researched. It paints a not altogether flattering picture of the Lords and masters of Clan history and goes along way to explain the demise of the control that the system had on Highland Life. Sometimes amusing and sometimes horrifying I would recommend this book to anyone that still holds a rose coloured image of the past. It is well written and would appeal to a wide range of readers and not just the history buffs.Redcastle has gone the way of many old castles and the lack of care is all the more remarkable in that it has happened over the last fifty years.

It is for me a most comprehensive well researched, detailed and interesting account of Redcastle through the centuries and I thoroughly enjoyed not only reading it but relating to parts within it through the many finds I unearthed there. Your affection – indeed passion for Redcastle and its past (like mine) shines through the pages. Well done again.
